Every year mounds of cable is sent to landfill when the materials used in cabling can be separated and reused in other products. A wide variety of cables can be accepted and recycled as they contain metals such as copper, lead and aluminium. These are often covered in plastics. Special machinery is used to strip the cables and break them up into useful materials.
